If you are interested in pursuing a career in nursing or health, you may be wondering if you can use two results for schools of nursing/health. The good news is that most schools of nursing generally accept two sittings/results. All colleges or schools of Nursing, without an exception, are obliged to accept two O’level/SSCE results.

However, there are some things you need to know before applying to schools of nursing/health with two results.

  1. Check the Requirements of the School of Nursing/Health
Before applying to a school of nursing/health, it is important to check the requirements of the school. Some schools may have specific requirements for the number of sittings/results they accept. Therefore, it is important to check the school’s website or contact the admission office to confirm their requirements.
  2. Ensure That Your Results Meet the Minimum Requirements
Even if a school of nursing/health accepts two sittings/results, it is important to ensure that your results meet the minimum requirements for admission. Most schools of nursing/health require a minimum of five credits in O’level/SSCE results, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  3. Be Prepared to Explain the Reason for Two Results
During the admission process, you may be required to explain the reason for two results. Some schools of nursing/health may require a letter of explanation or an interview to determine the reason for two results. Therefore, it is important to be prepared to explain the reason for two results.
  4. Apply to Schools of Nursing/Health That Accept Two Results
To increase your chances of admission, it is important to apply to schools of nursing/health that accept two results. Some schools of nursing/health may have specific requirements for the number of sittings/results they accept. Therefore, it is important to check the school’s website or contact the admission office to confirm their requirements.

While most schools of nursing and colleges of health accept two sittings/results, some may prefer that the two results come from the same or related exams. For instance, some schools may prefer two May/June WAEC results or one May/June WAEC plus another GCE WAEC.

Similarly, some schools may prefer two NECO June/July results or one NECO June/July and another NECO GCE.It is important to note that some schools of nursing and colleges of health may not state their preference for related exams openly in their adverts.

However, experience has shown that using the same exam combination works well.It is also important to note that some schools may insist that candidates combine one NECO result with another WAEC result, while others may insist that candidates combine two NABTEB results. In other words, combining NECO and WAEC/GCE is still acceptable, mostly. However, it is rare for schools to accept NABTEB with WAEC or NECO.
